What is Contra Vision ScorchProtect?
ScorchProtect is a clear perforated window film that is applied to the exterior of the glass, uniquely featuring 0.08” diameter holes comprising 50% of the surface area. Why does glass cause artificial turf melt?
Artificial turf can melt when concentrated reflections from low E grade glass magnify the sun’s rays.
Energy efficient glass with a low E coating is flexible, meaning that when the pressure between the panes of glass is different from the atmospheric pressure, the glass is designed to deflect.
When the glass deflects inward, this creates a concave reflective surface that concentrates the reflected beam of sunlight, resulting in the glass acting like a magnifying glass.
