Why Product Codes Matter: Understanding Contra Vision’s Product Codes

Product codes can seem like a secret language, but they serve many important purposes. They help companies track and manage inventory, streamline supply chain operations, and assist end users in specifying product details. Sometimes, product names become synonymous with a category (like “Contra Vision” with perforated window film). Using precise product codes helps to maintain brand integrity by clarifying exactly which product (and brand) is being referenced, preventing potential misidentification with similar items.
As Contra Vision’s range of perforated window films expands, it’s essential to have clear and informative product codes that reflect the unique attributes of each product. That’s why we use a standardized approach for all Contra Vision products and we’re going to explain that approach to you now.
Product codes such as BWPRW40HD, WBMAG30, WBYAG40, and WBPAG40HD tell us specific information about how the product is formed.
- First Two Characters: These indicate the colour of the face film. For instance, “WB” stands for White on Black.
- Third Character: This represents the type of material used. An “M” for example indicates a Monomeric material.
- Fourth Character: This shows the type of liner the product features. An “A” signifies an Additional liner.
- Fifth Character: This denotes the colour of the liner. For example, “G” indicates our Grayliner™, that enables the printer to see a truer representation of what the end user will see.
Finally, the last part of the product code typically consists of two numbers. For high-definition products, this is followed by “HD.” The numbers indicate the level of transparency; 40, for instance, means that 40% of the product is perforated.
Our non-perforated range follow a similar logic, but you can see the full breakdown of our perforated product codes below.
