Contra Vision supports Venture Arts non-profit art collective with donation of perforated window film.

Contra Vision are proud to have played a small part in the newly refurbished visual art studio for art collective, Venture Arts.

For more than 30 years, Venture Arts has worked alongside learning disabled and neurodivergent artists in the UK to develop ambitious creative practices, exhibit their work and build careers in the arts.

The non-profit organisation set out on a project to upgrade their workspace and studio, based in Hulme, Manchester. As part of this project, Contra Vision kindly donated some of our Perforated Window Film to help elevate their external visuals and offer a strong level of privacy for the artists inside.

Installed by Johnsons of Nantwich, the windows were transformed with Contra Vision Campaign White on Black perforated window film, and displayed the artwork of Venture Arts contributor, Leslie Thompson.

The windows of the studio now hint at the ongoing creativity inside, proudly showcasing Leslie’s artwork of various wildlife, specifically commissioned for this new project.

Venture Arts Director, Amanda Sutton shares;

We have been overwhelmed with the generosity and support from people in the development of our new art studios and extend particular thanks to Contra Vision for supplying us with the most brilliant product which enabled us to include designs on the front of our building by one of our talented artists, Leslie Thompson.

The effect is amazing, drawing attention to our new spaces whilst also affording us privacy on our street-front location. Thank you so much to all at Contra Vision who made this possible!

Some of the Contra Vision team visited the new studio space during the construction phase in early 2026 to see the donated window film installed, and so it was brilliant to be able to return for the official opening ceremony and see the completed windows transformed and bringing the exterior to life.

The studio was full of artists and local dignitaries, with the Lord Mayor of Manchester’s Lord Mayor cutting the ceremonial ribbon amidst heartfelt speeches from Venture Arts collaborators and staff.

Contra Vision Head of Marketing, Debbie Harrington, reflects on the project:

The team at Venture Arts have done a brilliant job reimagining their new space for the community of artists they support. As a team, we’re incredibly proud to see our product used in such a creative way and to play a small part in helping this fantastic organisation transform their environment. It’s inspiring to see our work contribute to a space that will empower so many artists, and we’re excited to keep a close eye on the creativity that pours out of the new Venture Arts visual art studio.
