Contra Vision 2024: A Year in Review

As we bid farewell to another year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the milestones and achievements that have made 2024 a remarkable year for Contra Vision. From groundbreaking product launches to industry recognition and environmental commitments, this year has been packed with innovation and inspiration.

From the spectacular to the everyday, our products have transformed windows and brought designs to life in extraordinary ways.
In June, the Barclays Bank branch at Wimbledon underwent an impressive transformation turning into a massive 450sqm OOH “billboard,” to celebrate their partnership with the summer’s premier tournament. The project was expertly delivered by Hallmark Outdoor, with printing handled by Reading-based VGL using WMBAG30, and installation executed by the award-winning Industrial Abseiling team.
This year standout vehicle wraps emerged as a key trend for generating buzz. Florida-based PrintMor embraced innovative approaches to push industry boundaries with creative, eye-catching designs. Standout projects included their impressive Kraken and Super Mario themed wraps using WBMAG50. Similarly, Polish advertising company ATART chose our groundbreaking high-definition perforated film WBPAG40HD to produce a striking, mirror-like wrap for The Hare Inn hotel, seamlessly blending the design into the local landscape.
Another notable bus wrap celebrated the 30th anniversary of Marti Pellow’s iconic single “Love Is All Around.” Marti toured the UK in a vibrant bus wrapped by Hull-based MW Graphics using WBMAG30. The campaign propelled the charity single, created with the Change + Check Choir, to the top of the UK charts by mid-October.
To commemorate Cadbury’s 200th Anniversary, London-based Augustus Martin collaborated with Tesco Retail Media and Mondelez to create a standout wrap, printing 128 individual panels of TWPAG30. The installation, completed by AFD, was successfully finished at the Wembley location within seven hours.
This year also saw the global launch of several exciting products:
- Contra Vision® Advance™: Our first PVC-free perforated window film, pushing sustainability forward.
- Contra Vision® AutoGraph™: Featuring air egress channels for bubble-free installation when paired with an overlaminate.
- New Privacy Films: Including trendy reeded glass and frosted product offerings.
- Reformulated Ultra Clear: Offering impeccable clarity without ‘haze’.
Nick Rigg, Head of Products & IP, remarked,
“It has been a landmark year for products at Contra Vision, in total we released 5 different products or product ranges into multiple markets. While some might say it’s been almost too much, I see it as a testament to Contra Vision’s position as the world leader in perforated window films. We want to continue to innovate and deliver high-quality products to the market”.
Beyond products, we made a significant mark through industry engagement:
- Exhibiting at ISA in Florida.
- Sponsoring the retail windows category at the UK Graphic Awards.
- Joining FESPA UK’s Waste Management Accreditation Scheme, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability.
As 2024 comes to a close, we’re already looking ahead to the opportunities and challenges of the coming year. New product launches are on the horizon, and the product team are working hard on several innovative ideas that could mark the beginning of something truly incredible. Stay tuned!
Thank you for being part of our journey this year. Here’s to a bright and bold 2025 and we will see you at ISA Las Vegas and FESPA Berlin.
