Lavastar, a family-built signage company based in Dogmersfield in Hampshire, England, were tasked with finding a solution for an office branding installation. They needed a product that would allow them to fully brand the main elevations of the Clapham Park office building without blocking out too much light and allowing office workers to still see out.
They installed Contra Vision® Performance™ HD White on Black in 40% transparency, winner of the Queen’s Award for Innovation 2020, onto most of the glazing on the buildings five main elevations. This unique product has 1mm diameter holes which are 60% smaller in diameter than standard one-way vision products. This makes it the only film in the world that offers High Definition graphics with the smoothest see-through available.
The signage company used a Mimaki CVJ 300-160 with solvent inks to print the high definition one-way vision film which features our unique patented Grayliner ™ which enables printers to ‘get it right first time’ and ensure colors are bright, vibrant and well matched. Another reason they chose to use Performance HD White on Black is because of its superior print quality and depth of color.
The perforated window film installation, which took place in November, was done by hand onto recently professionally cleaned glazing on the ground level and first floor of the building using a mobile scaffolding tower. The installation will feature on the building for the foreseeable future which is one of the reasons a product from our Performance range was used as these products have an expected lifetime on window of 3+ years.
