As a tier one sponsor for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Lloyds TSB was looking to make a powerful statement with their advertising campaign. Stratford Station, the Games’ primary public transport hub, fitted perfectly with their “For the Journey” tagline in addition to providing ample foot-traffic to showcase the campaign.
Printers, Vinyl Graphics Ltd and space advertisers, CBS Outdoor, collaborated to find a see-through window graphic solution which appears vibrant 24 hours a day, even when lit from within. The window graphic also had to provide visibility within the building to avoid visitors becoming claustrophobic.
The team achieved their goals using Performance Translucent White. A ‘ghost’ image was visible within the station, showcasing the building wrap and Lloyds TSB’s recognisable branding to an impressive 7 million people over the course of the games.
