Vehicle Graphics | Elite Signs and Merthyr Salvage

Elite Signs & Graphics, a Bridgend-based signage specialist, recently turned to Contra Vision to complete an innovative vehicle branding project for Merthyr Salvage.

The Challenge

They had the challenge of wrapping a lorry cab – including a direct vision window, an often overlooked area in vehicle branding projects.

A direct vision window (or DVR) allows drivers of heavy goods vehicles to see cyclists and pedestrians more easily, instead of just relying on their mirrors, and they are a legal requirement of all trucks on UK roads.

The Solution

To maintain a consistent and seamless design across the entire vehicle, the team chose Contra Vision® Performance White on Black™ perforated window film with a 20% transparency.

This product was selected for its ability to colour match the DVR to the existing wrap used on the rest of the lorry, allowing the blind spot window to blend flawlessly into the design while remaining fully functional.

The project was printed in-house using the Epson 80600 SureColor printer, ensuring high-quality output that matched the rest of the wrap in both colour and finish.

What sets this project apart is the ability to utilise space that many in the industry leave blank.

By utilising Contra Vision® Performance White on Black™, Elite Signs and Merthyr Salvage were able to maximise the vehicle’s branding area without compromising safety or visibility.

This forward-thinking approach not only enhanced the overall aesthetic but also demonstrated how overlooked areas can be transformed into valuable brand real estate.
