PVC-Free Window Graphics | Showcase Cinema Nottingham
The Challenge
The Showcase Cinema de Lux based in Nottingham were looking to promote the release of a new children’s film, Migration, in an impactful way on the front windows of the cinema. Covering these windows with a solid film would have had the advertising impact they wanted but it would have created a dark and claustrophobic feeling inside the cinema as the natural light would be blocked from coming through, this is where PVC-free perforated window film comes in.
The Solution
The advertising and print industries have long been reliant on PVC-based films for various applications, including window graphics. However, with growing concerns and increasing demand for sustainable solutions, there was a pressing need for alternatives that could still perform to the same high standard as PVC films. Contra Vision faced the challenge of addressing this demand while maintaining the quality and effectiveness expected by their customers.
Contra Vision® responded to the challenge by launching Contra Vision® Advance™, the company’s first PVC-free product, initially launching for the UK and European markets. This innovative solution is crafted from polyester, significantly reducing its carbon footprint compared to traditional PVC-based films and it uses patented Grayliner™ technology and a unique removable adhesive which means it holds up in the performance department.
The launch of Contra Vision® Advance™ marks a milestone in the industry’s journey towards sustainability. Its available in two transparencies, 30% or 40%, offering versatility to meet diverse application requirements. The product’s lifespan of approximately three years makes it a lower carbon footprint option for businesses.
Leading signage company Hollywood Monster embraced this innovation, using Contra Vision® Advance™ for window graphic installations at the Showcase Cinema de Lux in Nottingham. Supported by Premier Paper, one of Contra Vision’s UK distributors, Hollywood Monster demonstrated the viability and effectiveness of the product in real-world applications.
Advance not only provided a safer alternative for businesses but also showcased the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. The launch of this PVC-free product represents just the beginning of Contra Vision’s journey towards sustainable solutions. The company continues to explore opportunities to enhance sustainability across its product range, actively engaging in initiatives like the Self-Adhesive Industry Sustainability Action Group to address recycling challenges within the industry.
By pioneering PVC-free solutions like Contra Vision® Advance™, Contra Vision® sets a commendable example for the advertising and print industries, demonstrating that sustainability and performance can indeed go hand in hand.
