What is Contra Vision®

Contra Vision® is a product not a process.

Contra Vision® panels are based on transparent plastic films (e.g. self-adhesive non-perforated polyester or perforated vinyl) or rigid sheets (glass, acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, etc). They have a design or colour on one side that is not visible from the other side, which typically provides a clear, tinted view through the panel. Contra Vision® is sometimes referred to as a one-way vision material, though many different vision control options are possible (see Patents).

Contra Vision® panels have an opaque "silhouette pattern"* onto which is superimposed:

- a design visible from one side (not visible from the other side),

or

- a design visible from one side and another design visible from the other side (neither visible from the opposite side)

What is Contra Vision® BACKLITE™

Contra Vision® BACKLITE™ is a new see-through graphic product, based on transparent materials with a translucent "base pattern"* which has a design superimposed on one side, a reverse (mirror) image of which can be seen from the other side. As with Contra Vision®, the brain can select to see the design image or what is on the other side of the panel. Contra Vision® BACKLITE™ panels can be illuminated from the other side (unlike Contra Vision® panels), for example from the ceiling of a retail store or a payphone kiosk.

Both Contra Vision® and Contra Vision® BACKLITE™ can be described as see-through graphics, transparent graphics or vision control materials, within our VISION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.

* A Contra Vision silhouette pattern or Contra Vision® BACKLITE™ base pattern is typically a pattern of dots, lines or perforated material.
